Hi Kassan,

You have to elaborate on “does not run”, and how you invoke the gem5 binary. I
fear no one will be able to help otherwise.

Subject: Re: [gem5-users] problem with gem5.debug

Hi andreas,
I mean what I am trying to do is make gem5 as a part of my tool. To do that I
was trying to use the gem5.debug binary. But when I copy gem5.debug binary in
my tool folder (where I have my other project files) then the binary doesn't
runs.

Is there any other way to merge gem5 in our own tool?

I don't want the user who wants to use my tool to go through the trouble of
installing gem5 and getting some results from there and then feeding it to my
tool. So I want to include gem5 in my tool. But I can't get the gem5.debug
binary run in any other location except inside gem5-stable.

Is there a better way to do this? Or is the compiled binary gem5.debug has
location dependencies? If so then how can I build the gem5.debug binary without
the location dependencies.

Appreciate your response.

Hi Kassan,

It would be good if you could elaborate on what “does not work” actually means
and how it manifests itself.

Why does gem5.debug which is a binary file doesn't works outside the the gem5
