Gentlemen thank you for your review and comments; a new version (-06) has been uploaded, with edits in accordance with the email discussion. The only significant suggested change that was not made, was changing from BNF to ABNF; none of the authors felt confident enough that this could be done without possibly introducing unintended syntax changes, and the risk did not seem worthwhile (nor the divergence from RFC4281).
