I've been using this program off and on for about 3 + years. tested 
probably another 6 or 7 and keep coming back to this one.

While not exactly a big fan of MS Windows the fault that you describe 
probably is equally to blame by any number of programs that you run, 
have installed, uninstalled etc. Unistalling can be (especially by 
Windows) very sloppy. Many many many programs leave all kinds of garbage 
behind in your registry and other places. Registry cleaners like 
http://www.ccleaner.com/ will help but after much experimentation 
http://www.revouninstaller.com/ is also a valuable tool as it digs for 
those piles left behind.

My opinions only, as Fester says "your mileage may vary .... "
