Is there a way to change the fields of a bunch of files with a PAL? I know you
can do something like that from within SAM by making changes to an entire
Album. But how about externally with a PAL?

I have several different 1 minute vignettes that are played 4 times a day. Once
they are played 4 times, I want them deleted, due to the fact that Sam cannot
seem to distinguish these files when selecting music for the cue.

PAL can make changes to the database, as long as the fields you are looking
at are in the database then you are all set.

As for playing and deleting, each song or track has the ability to be set to
play x number of times then do something (in your case delete). This is
available via the song information editor.
