Assalamu alaikum.
I'm trying to type Arabic on my Redhat Linux box while connecting to it through a tightvnc client running on windows xp. After a bit of googling, it appears that vnc doesn't support the xkb extension.
I know this is actually a vnc problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has any workarounds.
