I'm not very much of an X hack, but would this be fixable using xmodmap? As for trying it using a linux vnc client, I haven't. In my google search, someone mentioned the same problem with Russian but it somehow worked (he was amazed) when he used a linux client that was hacked up to support Russian.
(Please don't suggest I try installing cygwin and then xfree86 on my xp box to try this out. :)) Salam, Moustafa --- Munzir Taha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Saturday 15 November 2003 08:39, Moustafa > Elqabbany wrote: > > Assalamu alaikum. > > > > I'm trying to type Arabic on my Redhat Linux box > while connecting to it > > through a tightvnc client running on windows xp. > After a bit of googling, > > it appears that vnc doesn't support the xkb > extension. > > > > I know this is actually a vnc problem, but I'm > wondering if anyone has any > > workarounds. > I recorded this in MAPS so the issue won't > evaporate.
