If you are trying to get credit, then your only truly uniqe identifier is
you SSN. They have stopped requiring SSN for check validation, and just
about anything else it *used* to be used for. AFAIK, you can even get your
student ID with a bogus SSN. (That's what I've heard, tho)

This is what I got back from LSU. MPITA......
I understand, however the only way I can determine whether or not they are
affliated with the university is through their ssn's. There are too many
people with the same name to tell them apart. I cannot make them give me
ssn's. Without them I cannot guarantee monday deliverence of the permits.

identity theft and/or credit card fraud. Hence, the group is really
reluctant to release their ssn's. If there is any alternative to this,
please let me know. I was also told on the phone by Sandy Scallan that the
