http://www.gentoo.org I've just downloaded the iso for gentoo-1.0rc6, but have yet to try an install. I'm interested in gentoo because of its "Portage" system, which is based on *BSD ports tree. The ports tree is a tree of directories that contain descriptions of available software packages. The ports tree is periodically synced up with the "official" tree at the distribution provider, in this case, Gentoo. The idea is that you can install or upgrade software from a trusted source without having to mess with compiling source code.
It's kinda like Debian's apt-get, but supposedly even easier to use. To me, software package management is a very important feature to consider when comparing operating systems. I've used OpenBSD's ports tree, and it is very well designed and easy to use. By using such a software package management system, you can have a pretty high level of confidence that the software will be reliable and tested thoroughly for bugs.
