Choppy, I've been using partimage (www.partimage.org) to backup/restore Win98 partitions from a Linux boot. It works well, though my only beef is that I have to use DOS fdisk to create the FAT16/32 partitions.
There are other solutions out there that I've read about, but haven't used. Don't need the CD, either, but will return the book I borrowed from the library. If someone else is in line for the Torvalds book, I can pass it on. Hope you enjoy the CA training. I managed to add a brief tour of the Napa Valley on a weekend during a training conference. Wanted to be sure the volcano at the head of the valley would remain dormant for a few more wine years. Had to sample the offerings along the way so I could include a paragraph about the influence of structural geology on wine flavor in my report on return. Had a few inquiries about backing up a dual boot system. Has anyone had experience with doing so from the Linux boot? Wonder what Linux software would do well and be either free or inexpensive for a non-commercial home user. Have both internal CD-RW drive and external DittoMax tape drive.
