Thanks for the info. I had assumed as much. From what I understand, Gnome provides a bunch of background capabilities like drag and drop, copy and paste, etc., as well as app to app communication. Which is the same thing, now that I think about it. Oh well, the short of it is I don't need Gnome running and would rather use BlackBox. Mostly because I can't figure out out how to make the Gnome Menu Editor accept my edits. :P BlackBox (http://blackbox.alug.org) on the other hand makes editing menus tres simple. And it's small.
