It is. Technically, it's a worm with a cleverly
written infection mechanism. I'm considering
installing it on a fresh Win95 box to see what it
does. Has anyone else?

I just received another one last night from a
misconfigured open-relay mail server in the Republic
of Korea. I've looked around a bit on the virus alert
type sites, but haven't seen it reported yet.

:) I think the virus writer knew that computer users
saavy enough to pick up omissions like that would not
run a patch delivered via email in the first place. As
in virus writing, the commercial software market or in
politics, target the majority of the weak minded
first.

Basically equivalent to a Hollywood movie set:
slapdash up some supporting structure, put a purty
face on it, get it out as fast as possible. :)
