It's been a few years since I used System Commander, but it was a
rock solid program when I did. It detects new operating systems and copies
OS specific information to a holding directory. When you pick the OS from
the menu, it will copy the appropriate files where they need to go. For
instance, I had DOS, Windows9X, OS/2 and NT on the same partition on the
same drive and System Commander kept them straight. This was at a time
when NT would tell you to reformat your drive if it detected OS/2. With
multiple partitions, any OS juggler could do it. It's tricky when they're
all in the same place.
