If you've got sendmail, then I also recommend Courier :P
Do you have any special reason for building your openssl/ssh from
source? If you'd have just
used the RPMS you wouldn't have those problems.

There's only one problem I've had with Red Carpet. Well, maybe two. I've
seen it "recommend" a list of packages including Courier, Tux, and
OpenSSH, when my machine already had working installations of Sendmail,
apache, and SSH. The absence of a product in the catalog is not a reason
to install it when the user selects "update me".
Second, I got out of the RPM update routine for a few months, and it bit
me in the buttocks like a big, hairy dog. When you build your openssh
from source, including openssl, it largely accepts the versions of
whatever adequate libs and dependencies you've got and does the job. If
you come back later and try to upgrade your glibc.... This version of
glibc required for <list of apps>. Upgrade of <apps> fails because all
the new ones require upgraded glibc, and all the new versions use ssl, and
a specific version of ssl that you do not have installed. Never mind that
I ssh and tunnel in and out of my net all day, I can't upgrade PINE
becuase it says I don't have good enough openssl!
I guess if you start from a fairly new cd and use Red Carpet from day one
to update you on a weekly basis, it's just fantastic. I've used it that
way once or twice before. Heaven help you if you fall behind... That
product-2.0.9.5b-dependences in every single rpm is the one pitfall I have
with that whole system.
