I'm having a weird error with my Apache 1.3.22 installation inhouse,
running under RH7.2 with PHP 4.06. RH7.2 is the standard kernel. Apache
and PHP were compiled on this machine several months ago after upgrading to
RH7.2. I use the webserver as my portal and have several subdirectories
with either files for download by other machines in the house or fun websites.

I can access the main index.php successfully, and by default (i.e., by
accessing http://aiel.malvern ) [THIS IS INHOUSE ONLY, AND OBVIOUSLY NOT
ACCESSABLE THROUGH YOUR DNS]. However, when I try http://aiel.malvern/pbs
, which should pull up my PBS spoof of my son's school, Apache now returns
a 301 Permanently Moved message. Similarly, if I try
http://aiel.malvern/dl , which is a download directory.

Both of these worked perfectly for months. In the last couple of days,
I've had the problem.

Known recent changes:
1) I attempted to convert my Linux boxes to dhcp, which was successful,
but I could no longer reliably access them by name from the Windows boxes.
2) I changed back to static IP addresses on the Linux boxes.
3) Only change to /www/conf/httpd.conf was to change the MinSpareServers
from 5 to 3 and MaxSpareServers from 10 to 5.
4) changes to and from dhcp were by editing /etc/sysconfig/hwconf to
delete interface cards, running kudzu to find the "new" hardware, setting
the network settings thru kudzu, and rebooting.

Any ideas on how I can solve the 301 error problem?
