Dangit, Dustin. Yes, you are right. You are correct. You are the Grand Poobah. There is nothing magically inherent in the act of writing open source software that keeps a programmer from making mistakes or writing bad code, i.e.; bugs. BUT, not all open source software sees the light of day, much less get downloaded, much less passes the peer review of lots of other coders (the OSS model), much less gets past the code maintainers, much less gets accepted into an open source software project. Are you getting my point here? We are getting bogged down by semantics. I say open source makes better code more likely because the APIs/docs can be verified against the source code by anyone and everyone. And because it is open, it can be peer-reviewed before being released out of beta. It does not always happen, but it can. You say that programmers, either open or closed source types, create bugs. I never disagreed with you on that. We are looking at the same thing from different perspectives. Just admit that M$ Windows sucks and I'll put you back on my Xmas card mailing list. :) John Hebert > Regards, Dustin > > > --- > Dustin Puryear <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > UNIX and Network Consultant > http://members.telocity.com/~dpuryear > PGP Key available at http://www.us.pgp.net > In the beginning the Universe was created. > This has been widely regarded as a bad move. - > Douglas Adams > > ================================================ > BRLUG - The Baton Rouge Linux User Group > Visit http://www.brlug.net for more information. > Send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to change > your subscription information. > ================================================ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
