Here is a good tutorial for Linux newbies written by Daniel Robbins, head of the Gentoo Linux (http://www.gentoo.org ) project.
It is intended to introduce you to the basics of Linux, and there are 3 other tutorials that progressively introduce you to advanced features of Linux. The tutorials are intended to prepare you for the Linux Professional Institute's Linux 101 Exam. I am planning to take this exam soon. You will have to register to take this tutorial, but I have registered with IBM a long time ago and specified not to give away my personal info. They kept their promise and are very reputible. http://www-105.ibm.com/developerworks/education.nsf/linux-onlinecourse-bytitle/4AAA4E689F774DBC86256B4500645075?OpenDocument BTW: this is a good example of IBM's dedication to Linux.
