Hi, all,

I've got a network problem that's sort of linux related, I guess. My
home network consists of a collection of Windows and Linux boxen, a
linux machine providing IP Masquerading via iptables, and a TiVo with
TiVoNet. All clients get their addresses via DHCP from the ipmasq
machine. I have a 10/100 switch, a 10/100 hub, and a 10 megabit hub.
Periodically, when the TiVo is connected to the ethernet, the route to
the internet dies. To start with, I had every machine plugged into the
10/100 switch, and this problem occurred. I can plug the TiVo and
another machine into a hub by themselves, and they ping each other fine
for as long as they're together. If I plug that hub into the switch, the
connection to the internet dies, sometimes immediately, sometimes after
a few hours. It's acting as if there's an IP address conflict at
192.168.1.1 (the IP of the gateway), but the TiVo doesn't respond to
pings at that address. Any ideas?
