This would be very hard to do at the personnel level at the library. I would instead recommend that the CD be catalogued with something like the following: "Ideal for newbies", etc.
And concerning new users repartitioning hard drives: most (all?) install scripts make it very plain that repartitioning can damage data on other partitions. I'm not concerned about it. The Gonzales library has some old Linux CDs for checkout and I don't think they've gotten any calls for tech support. This would be a good question to ask local libraries though.
