BRLUGers: I moved to Oklahoma in January, and have been lurking on the Tulsa-LUG list. They've recently begun discussing a project to provide open source CDs to schools. They're only in the earliest stages of getting this off of the ground, but I've been following with some interest your FOSSILE (if that's the name you end up with) Project.
In the spirit of open source communities, would y'all mind if Tulsa borrowed some of your ideas? For instance, I really like the idea of providing a CD-based distro s/a Knoppix, so users can boot up Linux without having to go through a difficult installation process. What other software are you going to provide? Will you provide open source s/w for Win32, such as GIMP, AbiWord? Finally, is there a central point of information for the Library project? I found the site pllug.sourceforge.net. But I also read your emails about getting a new domain for the project, or possibly hosting a site off of the BRLUG site. Anyway, thanks for all of your efforts in promoting open source software. You guys are doing a hell of a job. Maybe we can get something going over here, as well. best regards, Mike Melancon Stillwater, OK
