I guess I had assumed that there were plenty, but
immediately after stating that, I realize that is the
problem.

Wouldn't the Liberty Alliance be the best organization
to set up a CA? The "success" of a CA is that it is
well-known, given the technical requirements, from
what I understand a CA to be.

I'm kinda surprised that some of the bigger names in
the free and open source software communities hadn't
setup such a CA for the public's use. I guess it would
require a lot of advertising $.
