Pan is nothing. Use slrn. I use Agent (again) now that I'm running mostly from Windows, but when I'm working where I use UNIX or Linux mostly I always revert to using slrn. Can't beat it. Lots of power. It isn't graphical though, so it probably won't pass John's usability test.
