Well, Redhat 8.0 works fine, in fact, I'm coming to you from RH8.0 right
now.
I think I may be onto whats up with MDK9.0 and my ATI Rage 128.
I was doing the automated install rather than the expert and it detects
your video card and does not allow you to edit this choice.
The ATI Rage 128 came in a few flavors.....one flavor being an AGP card
whereas mine is a PCI card.
I'm going to check out this RH8.0 install for a few days then I'll trash
it and install MDK9.0 again but this time in expert mode to see if I'll
have more control over hand-picking my video card.
I hope this helps keep anyone else with an older computer from becoming
frustrated as I did.
One other note: Mandrake installs in about 50 minutes on this
P200MMX/128MB Ram computer.........RH8.0 took 3 hours. The only extras
I installed was to allow for perl programming. I'm sure there are other
dependancies that have to be installed but DAMN! Big difference.
