Basically, ya got it. I'd plan on treating the first go round as a test with the intention to do it all again a second time. You are basically correct, you would create two primary partitions for Windoze and then leave the rest for Linux. I recommend you consider formatting the first partition as NTFS to increase file security a bit and then the second partition as vfat or something Linux can read/write, so you can share data between the two OSs.
