I'm not sure about all of the distros, but under Mandrake, Lycoris and 
Libranet, for sure, you can import M$ TT fonts, right from the desktop into 
your Linux system. I've done it several time and it works great. I am also 
fairly sure that there is a command line utility to accomplish this as 
well. With regard to browser plugins, you may want to go to 
www.codeweavers.com and look at their Crossover Office Plug-In utility. As 
I understand it, it lets you run IE plugins on Linux browsers and its like 
$25.00.
