Got the SSH problem figured out!

With the help of a fellow Windows Lover (sorry, had to throw that in) who =
had similar problems said to check /etc/hosts.deny for ALL: PARANOID and =
sure enough it was there. =20

Frrom what I can gather from the man pages, the server pretty much =
rejected all connection attempts from those who didn't have a fully =
qualified reverse DNS ...which we don't for on campus, my friend off =
campus whose on a max with ATTBI does not ahve reverse DNS, but darkshadow=
s does.....

That problem is solved. After a play tonight (and java homework) I'll =
play with apt-get more. It does seem like a really really nice thing! I =
don't like the headache of doing coifigure and make and all that jazz.

Now a question from a real stupid person: my kerenel version is 2.2.19 =
should I upgrade to the latest one? if so is there a simple way to do =
it? I tried doing this before I unisntalled SuSe and got into some =
trouble *to big a kernel for the sparc SILO). =20
