Terry, The nice thing about Debian is that it is widely supported in the Linux community so most popular software project like PHP and MySQL have been made into Debian packages (*.deb). And like Ed said in his reply, all the usual compilation tools are available as well, though probably not installed by default. Remember that if you do a custom install, you can simply check the boxes of the software you want to install, and PHP and MySQL were in that list. >From what I saw of the Xandros Networks app in Ed's demo last night, it looks like it is pretty easy to install software.
