Buck,

If you don't need or want to run any Window$ apps, I would go with the
standard edition, everything else being equal. Regarding the discount on
the Standard edition, I am not sure. The original e-mail that I got is what
we posted last nite and today and it didn't specify. In a subesquent e-mail
yesterday afternoon from a different Xandros employee I got the following:

In regards to your presentation I've got a discount code for you that
entitles you and your lug members to %45 off the deluxe version of the
Xandros Desktop. Your mates can use this coupon code when ordering ..

Thanks,

So, if you decide that you only need the Standard edition, my suggestion
would be to proceed with purchasing it on the web site and use the discount
code. If it gives you the discount, go for it. If not, then, if it were me,
I would back up and purchase the Deluxe Edition since the Crossover
products are worth about $75.00 by themselves. Additionally, you should be
aware that, according to the web site, the Standard edition doesn't resize
NTFS partitions and provides only one (1) e-mail support incident, whereas
you get 30 days of unlimited support via e-mail with the Deluxe Edition.
That being said, I am not aware of any incident where Xandros has denied
support to ANYONE that has asked regardless of how long it has
been. Either way, its a helluva deal considering what Xandros does and how
well it does it especially against the cost of Suse, Lindows, and some of
the other commercial distros.

Just my thoughts. I hope it helps.

Ed Richards
