I've been throwing some procedures lately and decided to throw them up on the web for public consumption. I'm sure some of you will find these interesting.
http://www.scottharney.com/cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi/2003/02/21#apache_proxy We've talked serveral times here about NAT and port redirection. People have asked about how to have websites on multiple servers behind a firewall. The usual method would be to host one on port 80 and redirect an alternate port -- say 81 -- to the other box. So URL's look like http://www.site1.com and http://www.site2.com:81 . But wouldn't it be nice to get rid of that nasty ":81" business? I detail the method to do it at the above link. http://www.scottharney.com/cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi/2003/02/21#knoppix_and_partimage This link explains a method I used to image harddrive partitions (ala Norton Ghost) using a Knoppix CD. I can clone and restore servers from bare metal with this method. The servers being imaged run a variety of Operating Systems, including Windows. http://www.scottharney.com/cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi/2003/02/21#remote-upgrade Just a little blurb on performating a freebsd "buildworld" upgrade remotely. -- Scott Harney<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "...and one script to rule them all."
