I didn't write that.  Mixing network cards is perverse, though I've done it 
once or twice.  Then again, I'm still using my 3com509bs.  Using the same two 
dissimilar cards again and a again for years, that's special.  Two extra solder 
spikes for you until you buy a new network card.

I'm glad the problem was fixed.
