cool, i have centericq installed and it's working great! I know i should RTFM, but since you use it quite a bit... Is there any way (using this program, or another) to send a message right from the command line.
The situation is this. I'm a ham, and so is a friend of mine Kris. He is running an IRLP node (The IRLP uses Voice-Over-IP software and the Internet to link your radio site to the world. It runs on linux http://www.irlp.net/ ) and wants to use his radio in his truck to send a DTMF tone to his IRLP node which would send an instant message to me here at work to turn on my radio, since i usually have it off at work. He managed to get it to send me an email using the mail command (which is cool in itself) to turn my radio on, but it would be way cooler to send me an IM. something like $commandlineim -service aim -u somebody -p password / -messageto adam -message "turn on your dang radio" Is this possible, or am I just crazy ps. See, we do have quite a bit of geek fun here in Abbeville ;) Adam J.
