I have been trying to back up one computer to another. Machine 1 is on Libranet 2.7 (Debian) on standard Ethernet 10 base T. Machine 2 (Libranet 2.8, Debian) is on 802.11b connecting via a linksys wireless router running 802.11G in 802.11B compatible mode. Connections are fine, Internet browsing great, file transfers fine.
However, when I try to transfer large amounts of data between machine1 and machine2, machine2 kicks off ksoftirqd_CPU0. ksoftirqd_CPU0 then consumes all of the memory and machine2 is no longer available on the LAN. What the devil is going on here? I have googled and got info that this is a mirage, that other things are happening, but none of those posts match my experience. What is ksoftirqd_CPU0 and why does it hate me? When?! When will the madness end?! ===== Warmest Regards, Doug Riddle http://www.dougriddle.com http://fossile-project.sourceforge.net/ http://www.libranet.com -- "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the Peoples' Liberty Teeth." - George Washington -- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
