Those who live by public protection, die by it.  I have a domain, as you may 
have seen from another posting, and it is indeed cheep but it's not the answer. 
 I also have a public easement in my back yard, for which I receive nothing.  
Cox runs lines on that public ground and is really at the public mercy.  If 
others were free to compete against them, they would never pull stunts like 
this.  They are taking advantage of their monopoly service as all greedy 
monopoly services do, they are being lazy and are maximizing their revenues at 
the public expense.  Having an abusive contract does not justify an abusive 
contract.  Perhaps Cox needs a little competition in it's cable market?  They 
are sapping people for $80/month, surely there's enough to support a cut rate 
internet service.
