This is also available to anybody at LSU.

I thought some of you might be interested in the following databases with
online full text of computing books.

You even have access from off campus with your 11 digit LSU ID number, and
PIN. Your PIN is "changeme" until you change it. You may change you PIN by
going into the online catalog, under My Account, then Change My PIN.

http://www.lib.lsu.edu/databases/descriptions/safari.html
This includes works from publishers such as O'Reilly, SAMS, Pearson, Cisco,
Hewlett Packard, and Adobe. (This is the one for which we had a trial. We
were able to purchase access to some books here.)

Netlibrary also includes some computing books:
http://www.lib.lsu.edu/databases/descriptions/netlibrary.html

Netlibrary has a more advanced search screen, whereas Safari seems to have
more titles each from O'Reilly and SAMS.

I did that

For $9.99 a month, I can have 5 books checked out. A book has to be checked
out for 30 days before you can swap it for another book. For more money, I
can have more books checked out. Think about how useful this would be for an
IT company, especially if the techs are on the road a lot.

Cool. Did you want the free subscription then? Your subscription should
be
about to expire in a bit I think.
