Most of our network equipment is 3Com switches. We have a Cisco
router connecting us to the Internet.

I mostly use SecureCRT to connect to the serial port on the switches.
Unless I can telnet to the switch. But sometimes you really need
a serial cable to do certain things. Like fix a firmware upgraded that
fouled up in the middle.

We really should have bought laptops with serial ports, but when we
pick what we want, we're not the actual person who orders the box
so we don't always get what we want/need. It's a poor system.
We've decided that we don't do that anymore. :)
