network is now working.......pretty much. I issued a "dhcpcd eth0" at the prompt and low and behold it worked. Anyone have any idea where I add this so that it happens automatically when I boot and login? TIA, Cleve P.S. now to see if I can figure out why X isn't working. I built my gentoo with gdm and GNOME
