I just booted it on my old Compaq Presa= rio 1825, it detected everything properly and is running great. I don't k= now what is is based on (I missed that during the boot up) but runs Windo= wMaker as the desktop which runs quite fast even on this Celeron based 36= 6 machine. You can also run fluxbox instead of WindowMaker if you so desi= re. It automatically starts samba, configures your network and mounts all= Windows and Linux partitions.
