Hello Steven, Along with all the great experiences you will have at ULL, there will be quite a few "Oh MY God, I can't believe it" moments. I have noticed that several people and a few departments treat the internet as personal property. Don't be surprised if you can't get access, won't be given a passcode, or even told there is no internet connection. I'm sure you have already planned out your dorm.
I've got a D-Link AirPlus on my laptop and can't use it yet on RedHat. Thought about just getting another card. One of those help links Hebert sent some time ago included experiences with laptops and wireless cards. No one used the Plus. Oh, Mat's Open Source Group will have it's first meeting Aug 27 @ 5p upstairs at PJ's on campus. You are going to have a great semester. Why not a regular network card (that needs a wire/cable)? By PC I meant a desktop. I have not been able to find a cheep laptop yet that will fit my needs, but my dad will buy me one in two years (or at least that is what he said). Thanks, Steven P. <<RE: [brlug-general] Wireless adapter question (for college)>> <<ATT00174.txt>>
