11g is backwards compatible with 11b, but NOT 11a.  11a runs in the 5ghz

range, 11b and 11g are in 2.4ghz.

So 11b and 11a use different radios... there are cards that do both but 
they are pretty expensive.

Find out if the AP's you'll be connecting to are 11g, or if they have
plans to goto 11g in the next year or so.  If not, i'd just get the 11b
card to save some $$$...  Looks like the Orinoco 11b/g silver combo card
is about $20-$30 more than just the 11b card.
