Windoze networking? Nothing weird there is surprising. Lately, I've seen
machines that dial ISPs on their own, won't connect via modem with AOL 8 but
will connect with AOL 5, won't do dhcp without having their windoze domain name
set up, won't do any dial up or simply won't boot due to a bad modem. It's
bugs in hell, I tell you, bugs, hell! Ahhhhh!

John's paranoid idea sounds interesting, but I'm not sure why it would be more
permissive with a connection from a dial up than a DSL. Does ftp really work
on this client's machine at all over DSL?

Why do we call it "dialing" when there are no more rotary phones?
