That's a good idea, I would like to hear what a librarian thinks about
lending GPL media also. But I think the task would be to find a librarian
who knows about and understands the GPL
(http://www.gnu.org/licenses/licenses.html#GPL).

Adam Melancon, do you know any librarians locally who could talk about the
GPL and Free and Open Source software? My wife is a librarian so I will ask
her as well. Is there anyone else on the list who has a close association
with a librarian or a library?

Maybe the group or all LA LUGs could draft a letter to the State Library
asking them for an official position. This would definitely help boost
momentum with the FOSSILE project (http://fossile-project.sf.net).

Why can't we get the chief librarian to give us a fill-in or a
commentary
on the librarian's views on stocking and lending linux and other GNU
licensed software? I understand some are worried about copywrite
problems and similar difficulties.
