Hey, give the guy a break. It must have been a long time since Szulik has used Windoze. People like that might actually believe the M$ bullshit about XP being stable and having drivers that just work. He must not know how badly Microsoft is failing their customers, especially home users who bear the cost of it all. You only get that perspective when you try to use Windoze. I certainly fell for it before I worked in Computer Hell. That M$ toadie publication ZDNet would amp such a stupid statement, it's what they say all day long. In any case, Red Hat is moving in the right direction and I can be sure that Szulik's slip up is not an official Red Hat position. I expect more from Fedora than I do from Red Hat done the old way. Getting away from boxed releases was a great idea. The rise of Knoppix and other instant configuring distributions from Debian proves that development model produces user friendly software. I moved away from Red Hat because apt-get was easier and worked better than up2date. Fedora might correct this while offering a more direct route to many of Red Hat's great tools. Try other distros when their strength matches your needs or just for fun. Don't give up your comfort zone over anything ZDNet puts out.
