I have used smoothwall for a while, and used to frequent thier irc channel. Its pretty nice, I haven't used 2.0 gpl, but I was a beta tester for it. I wouldnt suggest doing that unless you have plenty of time to spend on your firewall.
The gpl versions worked without any problems for me (other than setting up some weird NICs). I have it running now on a 486 that at the moment is only being a firewall to my server, but used to function as a router for up to 3 workstations and the server. The only thing I noticed was maybe a bit of latency; but then, it is a 486 with 32 megs of ram. --mat On Wed, 2004-02-04 at 06:23, Cleve Allison wrote: > Has anyone had the opportunity to use Smoothwall?
