I counted two bad examples: Windows Messenger and CIFS/SMB. Waiting for a good example... I'd like also like to say: the illusion of security is worse than a known insecurity. In the case of a known insecurity, users can make a choice to stop running the insecure software. Are you saying you trust Microsoft to perform their own security audits?
