Flowscan for newbies! With Etherape working on a self booting CD, I suppose anything can happen. Judged that way, is anyone ready for newbies?
I'll never forget watching a peer demolish his Windoze computer. He was a proficient user of Red Hat 5.2 and Tex. He even had his work machine set to dual boot. This was 1997, and he was hardly a newbie. At that time, I had wasted my effort learning the Windoze GUI, so he came to me when he was having a problem with windoze. He had seen me use regedit once and wanted to use it too. I warned him that he should not do that randomly and begged him for further information about his problem. It was no use, all he wanted to do was wreck his registry. So I told him and off he went. Of course, he crashed and burned his system and it had to be rebuilt. The same trap is still there, isn't it? As no real standards exist for the registry, no documentation exists either.
