Hi Shannon:
Glad to hear the name Slackware around the group. This group seems to
favor Redhat like distros.
Slackware was also the first distro that I install permanently in my
computers. I used it until about 1999 - 2000? when John Hebert told me
that he was experimenting with Gentoo. I decided to give it a shot and
that is all I have ever used since.
As I recall Slackware is quit a bit different when dealing with init
scripts. The installation is very easy I believe. What might be
something to overcome by new Linux users is the ncurses interface. It
can be intimidating if you are used to an Apple GUI. Does Slackware 10
still uses ncurses? I know 9 still did.

Got Slack?

One cool thing that.
