Even if you do get all of that to work, good luck updating your BIOS or changing out your motherboard. I can imagine malware that changes the BIOS by one bit. Did you notice that they said they would not identify you twice? That will be the only part that works. Next month's Newbie Meeting is on technical writing with free software and I'd like some input. I've been using OO, gnumeric and KOffice. I've also been trying to work a few graphing programs. I've also walked through the DX tutorial. I love KOffice's OLE, formula editor and text editors.
