Brad, After poking around a bit on Ebay (http://search.ebay.com/usb-3-5-drive-enclosure_W0QQfromZR8QQsatitleZusbQ203Q2e5Q20driveQ20enclosureQQsosortorderZ1QQsosortpropertyZ3), I've found a number of cheaper alternatives to the ComboDock. I think the ComboDock is so expensive because of the higher quality case construction. However; I agree, the cost is steep.
I think the ComboDock is aimed primarily at Mac users, who are willing to drop more $$$ on hardware. ;) John --- Brad Bendily <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > ~$150 for just the ComboDock > > ~$170 for the ComboDock, AC adapter, and USB and > > FireWire cables > > $150 ducks for a combo thing to connect to your hard > drive? > > Why not just get an external enclosure and put the > drive in that? > They don't do Firewire, but sheesh they're a lot > cheaper! > > > They start around $5 on ebay! > http://search.ebay.com/external-usb-drive-case_W0QQsofocusZbsQQsbrftogZ1QQfromZR10QQsotrZ2QQcoactionZcompareQQcopagenumZ1QQcoentrypageZsearch > > > BB > > > > _______________________________________________ > General mailing list > [email protected] > http://brlug.net/mailman/listinfo/general_brlug.net > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
