I don't know what we can do about this. It's seems that now, the RIAA / BSA / SPA / Big Business is in bed with the Department of Justice; the DoJ has certainly adopted a stance that would only benefit the RIAA (and gang). It certainly doesn't help the American Consumer at all.
I think that the only thing that we can do is to ensure that we stay one step ahead of technology which would infringe upon our rights (DRM, etc.) and continue to support Linux. Sadly, I wish I could say that no- one has ever went to jail doing something for Linux, but that's just not true. We need to get Eric S. Raymond, Richard Stallman, the guys from EFF, and any other heavy name to stand behind a single protest - instead of selfishly pursuing their own roads to glory. I don't mean to be critical of the visionaries who brought us this far, but we really need their help or we're all going to be screwed.
