All you need to start giving MythTV a whirl is a $20 bttv-based card such as
the Hauppage WinTV Go. It works fine under Linux. I am still working
through some issues with it, but I am not sure whether they are related to
my 2.6.8 kernel or my SMP setup or my Promise IDE Raid card... It seems
like the sound stutters a bit while trying to record and watch at the same
time, but tvtime works great...

KDETV works great too. The ATI All-In-Wonder VE TV card works great too as it
is also bttv based.
