Laptops in general are a pain. Does anyone but Bits Technical do work on laptops?
For all that, I love the way thinkpads are built. They come apart easy and IBM has excellent service manuals as pdfs online. I can compare my older thinkpad to a winbook of equal age a friend had. The hinge broke and when he took it apart all the parts came springing out like a cheap clock mainspring. I got my good opinion of Thinkpads when I worked for the LTRC and saw them used for roadside data acquisition. They were tough.
